Employer Description: NextEra Energy Resources is primarily a competitive wholesale power generator. Our company is not a public utility. We operate a growing portfolio of facilities, totaling approximately 17,000 net megawatts, from power plants in 25 states and Canada. We sell the output to companies and businesses with an interest in clean energy, including utilities, retail electricity providers, power cooperatives, municipal electric providers and large industrial customers.

Expert in clean, renewable energy
NextEra Energy Resources leads the power industry through its focus on clean and renewable energy.

* More than 90 percent of our electricity comes from clean or renewable sources, including wind, solar, nuclear, gas and hydro.
* We are the No. 1 generator of solar and wind power in North America. (Source: American Wind Energy Association and National Renewable Energy Laboratory)
* We use clean burning fossil fuel with natural gas facilities in 10 states.
* Our nuclear fleet - the fourth largest in the country - produces no greenhouse gases, which many scientists believe contribute to global warming and climate change.
* We are a leading producer of hydroelectric power in the Northeast with plants in Maine.

Experience in project development & construction
NextEra Energy Resources has earned a strong reputation in power plant development and construction based on standardized processes, best practices and superior execution. We are also experienced in the development and construction of transmission infrastructure. Given our experience, we are uniquely suited to continue developing or acquiring power plants to meet the nation’s growing energy needs.

Top 10 power marketer
Power Marketing, LLC, a NextEra Energy Resources subsidiary, was rated one of the top 10 marketers of U.S. power in 2007 by Platts, an industry publication. Power Marketing is also one of the largest U.S. purchasers of natural gas and markets the largest renewable energy portfolio in the country. The company's activities include:

* Buying and selling wholesale energy commodities, such as natural gas, oil and electricity
* Managing all the fuel needs of NextEra Energy Resources’ power generation fleet
* Marketing the output to customers across the country
* Providing retail electricity to customers in select U.S. areas

Environmental commitment
NextEra Energy Resources promotes power generation through the use of clean-burning fuels and renewable resources. For example, NextEra Energy Resources wind facilities enabled our customers who purchased the renewable attributes to reduce emissions. Over the last five years, NextEra Energy Resources’ wind generation projects prevented the release of nearly 28 million tons of carbon dioxide and other pollutants. Our parent company, FPL Group, has received numerous awards and recognitions for its environmental commitment.
